![]() ![]() ![]() At this point, I think I’m into the magical politics side of things enough that I’ll keep going, the world is cool, but the characters aren’t always my favorite. ![]() I find myself swinging back and forth still between wanting to keep going and not on this series. I don’t love Mallory’s storyline, I find myself unsure of what to do with it, I guess like most of the characters, it continues to strike me as too convenient. I’m always for adding angles and demons into the mix of magical beings, so I enjoyed most of the magical battles in this story. I’m more excited at this point to see Ethan and Merit as a united team without any relationship drama, but that seems a little too elusive in these books. This installment adds yet another terrible decision to Ethan’s list, which makes me want to throw the book across the room, but also just tell Merit to forget it, and find a new vampire. But I think it was strung out too far with Ethan and Merit. ![]() I also acknowledge, as a reader, that I usually delight in the romantic tension that would be between the lead characters.
